ZONES OF IMMATERIAL SENSITIVITY

Camden Image Gallery is pleased to announce ZONES OF IMMATERIAL SENSITIVITY an exhibition curated by Stefania Carrozzini, in which nine artists from different countries participate: Italy, France, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Russia. It is an international project and a traveling concept that involves artists from various expressive languages, but who share the same sensitivity towards the immaterial.

A long time has passed since Yves Klein thought of the “Zones of immaterial pictorial Sensitivity”, or the sale of empty spaces in the city in exchange for the equivalent in gold (Paris 1959), a project that was part of the artist’s search for universality in the art and in life and which placed the void and absence before any material realization.

In this exhibition, however, the works are clearly visible, but the title still retains all its charm, generating new conceptual extensions that go beyond the historicity of the event to embark on new communication paths. The intent is also to put the visitor in a position to ask himself, to confront himself through the works of the artists.

The brackets of everyday life, those areas of comfort or even of despair where our thoughts float, weave a language that is then translated into images, perceptions of a “beyond” that reveals itself and emerges in consciousness by finding all possible ways to manifest itself. A gesture, a trace on a wall, a space perceived as infinite, the limit as a living space, the desire for disenchantment and lightness, are the poetics present in the works of the artists who are part of this exhibition, including installation, photography, painting. and sculpture.

Zones of Immaterial Sensitivity are mental places that creativity makes its own, placing “feeling” as a privileged contemplative moment in order to accommodate other dimensions that escape a distracted eye.

Finally, this exhibition aims to make us reflect on the present time of creativity that finds a body where we least expect it: everything can be a source of inspiration if we listen to it. Living in the areas of immaterial sensitivity means living connected with the present and with our inner source.

The exhibition, Zones of Immaterial Sensitivity  curated by Stefania Carrozzini was presented for the first time in Venice in January 2021 at Santa Eufemia Gallery, then in Milan at MyMicroGallery in February 2022, and in London will be visible until April 5, 2022.
