Art feeds on that which is hidden to the eye, on that which generates amazement.
To discover all the beauty of an unexpected world made of creativity and inspiration, we have to look through special lenses and try to be familiar with the abysses which live therein, the mistakes, the contradictions. When everything is in harmony and synchronized, the coincidences fade, rather they annul themselves and every thing finds its proper place and takes on a meaning. Everything can co-exist.
The creative process has many similarities with scientific research; the artist is similar to the person who looks in the microscope, to the person who looks out onto an unexpected world with a thirst for discovery. Art is the medium with which to explore these hidden dimensions, to bring them to light and give them a voice. That from which our physicality precludes us is taken care of by the creative language, which revolutionizes its terms and challenging unexpected worlds, thereby broadening their limitations.
Art proceeds through symbols and metaphors, through visual finds composed of concrete or illusory material, propelled by cosmic power and energy between the sky and the earth, between the known and the unknown world, between the material and the immaterial. The unexpected worlds are universes of which the director is our very Self continuously writing new scripts, a play entrusted to our unconscious mind with its absurd, and, only in appearance, illogical stories. This energy transforms into a need for truth. The creative language gathers and recognizes this urge and articulates it through the representation of the codes of the work of art.
There is always a time lapse between that which is imagined and that which instead materializes, between the concept and its realization. The artist sees and provides, orders and organizes, yet they then know that the creation will take shape before their very eyes, almost as if taken by the hand, by an invisible guiding force. The project and the discovery make our destinies meet. Nothing is foreseeable, nothing is as it seems.
The mind can be a palette, a slate on which to write and rewrite, attaining to our store of sensorial experiences. A mind which renews itself when it is curious, when it is attracted by the unforeseeable, by an existential energy in its purest form.
Unforeseeable and unexpected worlds presuppose disorientation, where things are launched towards new ways of being. On this new ground we become curious, we attune our sensitive, vital and creative faculties, like a source continuously renewing our strength.
Therefore, regeneration comes about through that which may not be hypothesized; it is a place without any defences, of surrender, where we are naked, where mistakes and experiments are made and risks taken. In this window on to boundless infinity, we can only open ourselves with natural elegance unto this unexpected world which only art can explain. The time of art is the time of the unknown, it is marked by a before and an after, which goes beyond ordinariness and that which is known. The images emerge and seem to be beckoning us to follow, universes are formed which determine new levels of consciousness and reality, flirting with chaos, venturing without fear into those territories where everything may still happen.
The thought of art embracing life cannot exclude the sense of wonder and amazement, where the unexpected is not perceived as an obstacle, yet as an infinite possibility of the imagination to create worlds, unexpected worlds.
